Mandatory Spay and Neuter bill passes in Los Angeles!

Los Angeles City and County have passed a madatory spay and neuter bill. Let's do everything we can to educate the public about this crucial bill IMMEDIATELY. It requires all dogs and cats to be spayed/neutered due to the absolutely overwhelming problem of pet over population. Of course there are exceptions to this bill. To find out more about this incredibly important Bill for Animals visit:

The Directors of Animal Welfare

What we do: We work in conjunction with LA Animal Services as well as many other rescue organizations to Educate and alert the public about all different animal issues. We work within our Neighborhood Councils and assist others in all different matters. We help with disputes, we help place homeless animals, we trap and neuter stray cat colonies, we hold Education booths and mobile adoptions when possible. We work to get laws passed that benefit animals. To find out more visit http://www.dawprogram.org

"The new shelter is much more pleasant to go into than it used to be. Go and see for yourself, and adopt a cute homeless animal such as me!"

Chaining up Dogs ILLEGAL

It is against the law to chain your dog for more than needed (max 3 hours) but even that is bad. Please report tethering to me or the LAAS.

SHELTERS severely overcrowded

It just killed me the other day when I visited the Local City Shelter. It was so miserable and overcrowded, so many dogs and cats in need of homes. PLEASE have it in your heart to adopt one of these wonderful creatures. DON'T BREED OR BUY!

DON'T BREED OR BUY, while shelter pets die

Please look into adopting from the various shelters and rescue groups before going to a breeder or pet store. Oftentimes these animals were bred in horrible conditions. If you adopt from a shelter, you will be saving a life!

There are 6 LA city shelters..the adoption fee is around 85.00

THEY ALSO ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS! all shelters need help, do you know anyone, perhaps teens over 16 who love animals who can give at least 8 hours a month?

There are numerous no-kill rescue groups all over the city, many that specialize in pure breeds as well.
